Can I ask for your help? You see, reading DIDACHE everyday is easy. Just open the Bible or COMPANION, go through the passage, read through DIDACHE's reflection for the day, say a short prayer and voila, you're through.
What I'm going to ask you is more difficult.
I'm asking you to help the poor.
(If you use COMPANION, I wrote the same invitation there too.)
The poor are God's beloved children. Some ask, "Why doesn't God do anything about all those who suffer because of poverty?"
Listen: God doesn't like any of these things to happen. Much of the suffering we see is a result of man's sin, and instead of asking why God isn't doing anything about it, let's ask a different question:
Why aren't we doing anything about it?
I'm inviting you to help ANAWIM, a little home we started in Montalban, Rizal a place for a few orphans and many abandoned elderly. Instead of living and dying on the streets, we give them a Christian home.
Help us help them. Send your love gifts to:ANAWIM, #56 Chicago St., Cubao, Quezon City, M.M., Philippines 1109. Or e-mail us at svp@info.com.ph.Your help will go a long, long way.
