SOUND OF SILENCE
"Silence..." - Zechariah 2:17

1 once heard an expression, "Nakakabingi ang katahimikan. Silence is deafening." It seems ironic indeed but it's in silence that we can sink deeper into ourselves , our very core. As the quiet and peace deepen and our body and spirit become at ease, that's when we can search our innermost being and that's where we meet God. Then that's the time we can hear His voice. We can't hear Him if our mind's noisy with worldly concerns. We can't hear Him if our ears are only attuned to our own voice.

In Scriptures, it's described that before God spoke to Moses, there were trumpet blasts and sounds of thunder. (Exodus 19:19; 20:18) I believe that Moses had to keep silent to hear God speak.

The process could be deafening because you have to be deaf to the world to hear the trumpet blasts and thunder in preparation to listen to God's voice. Lulu P.

REFLECTION:
When was the last time you withdrew from the world to really observe the silence in your heart? You need it.

O God,
Creator of the universe, grant me ears not only to hear but listen as You reveal Your wonderful message.
