ALL WORK, NO PRAY
Then He told them a parable about the necessity for them to pray always without becoming weary. -Luke 18: 1

J. Hudson Taylor once said, "When we work, we work. When we pray, God works. "

This is probably the reason why Jesus admonished Martha for her meticulous attention to work and praised Mary for choosing the better part. This should not be misconstrued , however, to diminish the importance of work.So also faith of itself, if it does not have works, is dead. (James 2:17)

Prayer without work is like an empty wagonlots of noise but no load. I believe that prayer and work should go together. Prayer is never meant to be a substitute for action, and action always needs the stabilizing influence of prayer (Bryan Jeffery Leech).

Remember this: all work and no pray will make you a dull person (he-he). Randy B.

REFLECTION:
Don't just
do something.
Pray!

Lord, help us not to be distracted by many things but allow us to be focused through the steadfastness of prayer.

St.Mawes,
abbot,

pray for us.
