LET GOD BE GOD
"...we have done what we were obliged to do." - Luke 17:10

Sometimes, the need for recognition becomes so great within us that it influences our actions. We become more concerned about pleasing others and gaining their approval than that of Jesus.

There was a time when I was appointed cocoordinator of one of our Fire of God seminars in community. I became so engrossed in making the seminar a success. I then saw that my thoughts were more concerned with impressing community and not wanting to be disgraced by not being able to deliver. I realized though that, apart from Him, there was nothing I can do. The committee had to work for Him, through Him, with Him. It wasn't by might nor power that everything would fall into place but only by His Spirit. I had to learn to let go and let God be God.

In the end, I realized the difference between doing things to lift me up and doing things to lift Him up. In my service for the Lord, I now pray constantly that I decrease as He increases in me. Deanna V.

REFLECTION:
People will never understand your service completely. But God does.

I've been a people-pleaser all my life. Today, I receive Your loving approval.
