AFTERLIFE
...stand erect and raise your heads because your redemption is at hand. - Luke 21: 28

One of my favorite movies is GHOST, starring Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze. I like this movie because it is a different kind of love story… love between a man and a woman which continued on to the afterlife when the man met his untimely death.

What is interesting in the story is how they showed the soul departing from the body. The good person's soul departing from the body. The good person's soul is taken up by some sort of "angels" while the bad person's soul is taken down by some sort of "devils." I found these scenes startling.

I thought that if this really happens when we die, how scary it is to be dragged down by those black creatures and how glorious it is to be brought up by those angelic creatures.

Looking at my life, when the time comes, I surely would like to meet my Creator. I would want Him to give me a good tap on my shoulders and say, "You did a good job, Rose!" Rose I.

Jeremiah 33: 14-16

Luke 21: 25-28,
34-36

REFLECTION:
If you were to face God now, will He commend you for a job well done?

Lord, help us to choose to be worthy children of Yours.

St. Cassian,
martyr,
