OUR LIBERATION
Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away. - Luke 21:33

"Why should I? I can't stand seeing burly men with tattoos all over their bodies!" "What would happen to us if a riot occurred inside the cell?" "What should we do if an inmate runs amok during our prayers?" "What if a madman suddenly throws a grenade in front of us?"

I didn't expect to be assigned by our leader to do weekly jail visitations. I was beclouded with hesitations, gripped with fear. I would've opted for a regular visit in a public hospital. What impelled me to obey was the Lord's words: "Can you not see Me in the faces of your least brethren?"

Every week, we have to contend ourselves with the discomforts inside the cell-- with all the filth and miseries of the prisoners' bodies, lives, and spirits!

But when we perform these tasks, we're healed of our pride, selfishness, perversity, and vanity. I won't exchange this labour of love for anything in the world! Wilson M.

REFLECTION:
How do you trust the least of our brethren?

Lord Jesus Christ, hidden among the poor, give me Your heart so pure and humble that I may worthily follow You.
