UNSCATHED
"...He sets up walls and ramparts to protect us." - Isaiah 26:1

A young woman was learning how to drive around the village one afternoon when a bunch of rowdy stray dogs suddenly crossed her path. Panic-stricken, she floored the gas, thinking it was the brake. The car lurched at neck breaking speed, mounted an empty lot and, with thunderous impact, hit our next door neighbor's gate. The startled driver and instructor were bloodied as the windshield shattered into tiny pieces.

Despite the dreadful accident, we recognized a host of blessings which made us believe in the power of God's protection. First, the couple rammed onto a doctor's house who, in turn, was around to quickly administer first aid. Second, the children who usually play on the streets at that hour were sent home shortly before the smash. Third, my family and I were delayed in a nearby gas station so we did not collide with the wayward vehicle. You see, the curve where the car passed is the exact spot where we wait until our helpers open our garage gate. If we were not stalled for a few minutes, we would have been unwilling victims as well. REFLECTION:
Recall the many instances the Lord has spared you from trouble. Be grateful for those times.

Lord, thank You that we remain unscathed- both physically or spiritually.

pope,
